Collection of five animated features following the adventures of the DC Comics superhero. Superman: Unbound, Superman: Doomsday, Superman vs Elite, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
In Superman: Unbound (2013), with the help of his cousin Supergirl (voice of Molly C. Quinn), Superman (Matt Bomer) goes up against extraterrestrial villain Brainiac (John Noble), who has been wreaking havoc across the universe, stealing cities and destroying planets, including the hero's home Krypton.
With Brainiac now on Earth, Superman does all he can to prevent it, and its people, from meeting the same fate. In Superman: Doomsday (2007), Superman (Adam Baldwin) goes up against his toughest opponent yet when LexCorps unintentionally release a powerful villain known as Doomsday. In an attempt to save the city of Metropolis Superman must engage in a fight to the death.
In Superman Vs The Elite (2012), Superman (George Newbern) questions the methods of The Elite, a new group of superheroes led by Brit Manchester Black (Robin Atkin Downes), who believe the only way to rid the world of evil is to kill villains. Superman, however, is determined to protect the people of Earth without causing more death. As The Elite's exploits get out of hand, Superman finds himself with no choice but to take them down.
In Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009), Superman (Tim Daly) and Batman (Kevin Conroy) join forces to destroy a Kryptonite meteor that is heading directly towards Earth. With new US President Lex Luthor (Clancy Brown) wanting to take the glory for the meteor's destruction, however, Superman finds himself accused of murder and both he and Batman, with the help of Power Girl (Allison Mack), must successfully defeat an army of villains before they can continue with their plans to save the world.
In the sequel, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010), Superman (Daly)'s cousin Kara Zor-El (Summer Glau) arrives in Gotham City but causes problems when she is unable to control her powers. After training at Themyscira, Kara is captured by the evil Darkseid (Andre Braugher). With the help of some fellow heroes, including Batman (Conroy), Superman goes to rescue his cousin.
Six chronological, animated stories of the caped crusader, that
fill in the gaps between 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight'.
Combining the talents of three standout anime studios with noted
anime directors, Shojiro Nishimi, Futoshi Higashide, Hiroshi
Morioka, Yasuhiro Aoki and Toshiyuki Kubooka, the series charts
Batman's progression from gifted amateur to fully-fledged
crime-avenger. 'Have I Got a Story for You' tells how a group of
kids are variously affected by their encounters with Batman. In
'Crossfire', Gotham City's police force are forced to conquer their
distrust of the Dark Knight when they come under fire from the mob.
'Field Test' focusses on the vast array of weaponry and gadgets at
Batman's disposal as he fights injustice, while 'In Darkness
Dwells' has the caped-crusader locking horns with the sewer
dwelling 'Killer Croc' and 'The Scarecrow'. 'Working Through Pain'
explores Bruce Wayne's gruelling training regime, instigated by a
mysterious Indian woman named Cassandra, while the final chapter,
'Deadshot', draws the chapters to a conclusion, with Batman having
to stop a ruthlessly efficient assassin with few moral qualms.
The sleepy community of Brewster, Rhode Island, is just like any
other small American town. It's a place where most of the
population will likely die blocks from where they were born; where
gossip spreads like wildfire, and the big entertainment on weekends
is the inevitable fight at the local bar. But recently, something
out of the ordinary - perhaps even supernatural - has been stirring
in Brewster. While packs of coyotes gather on back roads and the
news spreads that a baby has been stolen from Memorial Hospital
(and replaced in its bassinet by a snake), a series of inexplicably
violent acts begins to confound Detective Woody Potter and the
local police - and inspire terror in the hearts and minds of the
locals. From award-winning author Stephen Dobyns comes a sardonic
yet chillingly suspenseful novel: the literary equivalent of a
Richard Russo small-town tableau crossed with a Stephen King
thriller. The Burn Palace is a darkly funny, twisted portrait of
chaos and paranoia, with an impressive host of richly rendered,
larger than-life characters and a thrilling plot that will keep
readers guessing until the final pages.
